Guidelines

Fax

Best practices
  • Keep content short and concise.
  • Use simple illustrations and graphics for optimum reproducibility.
  • Avoid using photography.
  • Apply sell sheet page grid.
  • Help customers conserve toner by minimizing large areas of black.
  • Avoid white type on black backgrounds to ensure easy readability.
  • The IDEXX logo (black) should appear in the lower right corner of the page on a white field.

Direct mail postcard

Guidelines
  • Use the appropriate business or product color as the dominant color element.
  • Always include a clear call to action (CTA) that is displayed prominently.
  • The IDEXX logo should appear as part of the return address on the back of the postcard. A logo can also appear on the front of the postcard, but is not required.
  • Download existing design from Widen and follow page grid as outlined.
  • Refer to the IDEXX North American standard print specs for stock specifications.

Best practices
  • Use headlines and visual elements that help the postcard get noticed.
  • Include copy that is concise and to-the-point.
  • Adhere to local postal guidelines for address and required indicia.

Advertisements

To help IDEXX print advertising stand out in a publication, adherence to the brand guidelines is more flexible than in other channels. While IDEXX logo and business color guidance should be followed, other brand elements should be employed only if they contribute to the ad being informative, memorable, and persuasive. Priority should be given to compelling designs, strong visuals, and concise copy.

Best practices
  • Ad sizes are specific to each publication. Be sure to check with your publication for specific trim size, margin, and bleed requirements.
  • The call to action (CTA) should be displayed prominently—shown in red type or within a red field of color—and located in the bottom 1/3 of the page.
  • The IDEXX logo should appear in the lower right corner of the page on a white field.
  • Standards for IDEXX logo size should be adhered to and the logo located in the bottom 1/3 of the page.

Scientific white paper

Guidelines
  • Scientific white papers always use a straight color bar at the top of the page.
  • Logo appears twice on scientific white papers and diagnostic updates: once on the first page in the upper right; once on the last page in the lower right.
  • Download existing design from Widen and follow page grid as outlined.
  • Use the appropriate business or product type color for the background.

Never do this
  • Use the circle of focus (curved bar) treatment in place of the straight bar.

Covers for documents

Guidelines
  • Use our business colors on printed marketing materials for easy identification.
  • IDEXX logo should be consistently placed in the lower right whenever possible.
     
Never do this
  • Alter the brand elements: color, location, logo size, etc.
  • Use additional graphic elements for decorative purposes.
  • Use mixed business colors on one piece.

Brochures

We have three different levels of brochures:
  1. Large format (11″ x 8.5″). Showcase portfolios of products, businesses, and overarching themes.
  2. Medium format (8.5″ x 8.5″). Showcase individual products in detail.
  3. Small format (4″ x 8.5″). Showcase individual menu items, such as tests, accessories, and services.

Guidelines
  • Use the appropriate business or product color as the dominant color element.
  • Download existing design from Widen and follow page grid as outlined.
  • IDEXX logo on front cover should be placed on the left side of the white field.
  • If back cover of brochure contains only address, URL, legal and reference information, IDEXX logo should be placed on lower left, as shown in examples on Widen. If brochure content continues onto the back cover, logo should be placed on lower right, as is done on sell sheets, scientific white papers, diagnostic updates, etc.
